The kitchen at Hammerman's is a proper team effort, led by Executive Head Chef Matthew Stewart, who brings the menus to life day to day — and the food is all the better for it. Everything here is designed for sharing — order three, order more, pass things around the table and see what everyone else got. Scottish produce runs through everything, from meat and game to seafood and seasonal veg. Scotland's larder is extraordinary when you use it properly. This team uses it properly.

From the Land
Proper Scottish comfort. Done properly.
Haggis pakora, whisky-glazed pork belly bites, a duo of Angus beef and chicken sliders, shawarma lamb meatballs, chorizo and black pudding hotpot and slow-braised Highland venison pie. The meat and game plates are rooted in Scotland from the first bite to the last.
From the Sea
Scotland's coastline on a plate.
Shetland mussels in vermouth and nduja cream. Beetroot-cured salmon with whisky aioli. Crispy scampi tacos. Smoked haddock and chive Scotch egg. Panko-crusted cod and mini fish and chips. The sea around Scotland is extraordinary — and it shows.
From the Garden
For those who know that vegetables deserve better than an afterthought.
Crispy oyster mushrooms, heritage tomatoes and burrata, fig and blue cheese tartlet, salt and pepper cauliflower wings and a roasted onion and thyme velouté. Creative, seasonal, and genuinely satisfying — the veggie plates hold their own against anything else on the menu.
Desserts
You'll want to save room. Trust us on this one.
Rice pudding arancini with dulce de leche, banoffee crème brûlée, orange posset and a Malibu s'mores brownie — all £9. The kind of thing that makes you glad you didn't leave when you probably should have.
Sunday Roast
A proper Sunday roast. In a proper setting.
When the Sunday Roast is on, it makes for a relaxed Sunday afternoon in Aberdeen. Classic roast done with the same care and quality as everything else we do — served right here in Golden Square.

A menu made for younger guests.
Families are welcome at Hammerman's. Two courses for £9.95, with mains from mini fish and chips to Greek chicken skewers, beef sliders, mac and cheese or tomato penne, then a pudding to finish. Cooked with the same care as everything else that leaves the kitchen, with vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options available.
